Millbeck fishery will be closed on Monday 12th December 2011 and re-open Saturday 18th Febuary 2012. Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Welcome to the Millbeck Coarse Fishery web page. A privately run coarse fishery, Millbeck has been established for 16 years and is run by owners, Mike and Wendy Skyrme, who have made many new improvements and additions to this fine facility for everyone to enjoy. Situated a few minutes drive from the town centre of Barrow-in-Furness, Millbeck is its own little haven, set in a beautiful and peaceful location. As you enter the main gates you will find ample parking space and then it is only a short walk to the smallest of our two ponds. This pond is ideal for children and novices alike, stocked with a variety of fish of sizes that are easy for the inexperienced to handle. Continuing on you will reach the boardwalk which will bring you to our larger main pond. About one and a half acres in size the pond has fifteen well spaced wooden pegs running along the bank and good cover is provided by trees, shrubs and marginal reedbeds. The pond contains Common Carp and Mirror Carp weighing up to 30lb and is also stocked with Tench, Rudd, Bream and Chub. Take a look on our regularly updated gallery page to see some of this year's catches. The fishery opens at 7.30am till dusk on weekdays apart from Wednesday when it will be closed all day and is open 8.00am till dusk at weekends. To ensure that all anglers can fish in peace and safety a list of rules is available. We hope you enjoy your visit to Millbeck Coarse Fishery! Kind regards, Mike and Wendy Skyrme.
